On Sunday 26 November our Highview Crew are taking part in The Casey Stride Fun Run & Walk to show our support for youth mental health, raising much needed funds and awareness towards headspace, a well-established Aussie run youth mental health and support foundation. We will be rocking our runners as we hit the pavement for this incredible cause committing to either 5km or 10km races (plus some shorter fun options for children to come along!).
Please help motivate our Highview Crew and get behind us by donating to our team or come down on the day to cheer us along!
Why headspace?
headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25-year olds. Each year, headspace helps thousands of young people access vital support through our headspace services in 154 communities across Australia, our online and phone counselling services, our vocational services, and our presence in schools. headspace can help young people with mental health, physical health (including sexual health) alcohol and other drug services, and work and study support.
Each year, one in four young people experience a mental health issue, and 75 per cent of mental health disorders emerge before a person turns 25. Sadly, suicide is still the leading cause of death for young people in Australia. These are alarming statistics and the mental health crisis in Australia is worsening. Support from individuals, groups, and organisations help us pilot new and innovative programs to grow our reach and improve the mental health outcomes of young people.
We need your help to positively impact the lives of young Australians.
