Headspace Sydney Marathon

Help me support the mental health of young people

I am raising funds for headspace to support the mental health and wellbeing of young Australians.

Each year, one in four young people experience a mental health issue, and 75 per cent of mental health disorders emerge before a person turns 25. Sadly, suicide is still the leading cause of death for young people in Australia.

headspace provides mental health services to young people 12 to 25 online, by phone and through headspace centres in metro and regional areas across Australia.

The marathon is on Sunday May 19th, Simon & I are going to do the marathon around the beautiful foreshore of Sydney Harbour.

Week 13 Long Run Anzac Edt

Sunday 28th Apr
To recognise and commemorate the contribution of all those who have served Australia and New Zealand (including those who died) in time of war and in war‑like conflicts. 
Lest we forget. 

Week 12 Long Run 3 hours, 30km, and another 1000m, total elevation!

Saturday 20th Apr
Grey sky this morning with a hint of rain but this didn't dampen our spirit. In the spirit of adventure Simon and I decided to run the hills of Hornsby Shire. We soldier on as we tackle the 30km long run. It was tough and the shire threw everything at us including a massive head wind. Luckily we escape the rain and manage to hit our training target.

Week 11 Long Run 3 hours, 29.5km, 1000m total elevation!

Monday 15th Apr
This week has been an epic training session with a monster long run on Sunday with Simon. We are totally spent but ready to do it again next week. Just 5 more weeks to go before race day. 

Week 10 Long Run 21.1km Half Marathon

Saturday 6th Apr
Today is a major milestone for Simon and I, we ran the half marathon under sub 2 hours. This has been 10 weeks of training in the making. Blood, sweat and tears and is all worth it. Another 6 weeks to go till the full marathon 42.2km. 

Week 8 26km Epping to West Ryde and back

Sunday 24th Mar
Today was an epic day smashing out 26km from Epping to West Ryde loop. Legs totally spent but heart fill with joy as we hit the half way mark of our training program Just another 8 weeks to go. 

6 weeks down 10 weeks to go

Monday 11th Mar
It has been an amazing 6 weeks so far and Simon and I are truly bless with the support from our colleagues, family and friends. This project means so much to us giving back to the community and helping young people that are in need. We will continue to train over the next 10 weeks and do our very best on race day and make you proud. Please continue to support us by donating and spreading the word. xox Jimi
